* LOCAL GETTYSBURG RECOVERY! Authentic Confederate Cannon Canister shot. This 1 lb 6 oz. Ball is 2 1/8"in diameter. Some have a fine seam around them helping identify it as a Confederate ball as the South didn't make there cannon balls or canister shot as neatly as the North. 16 Of these balls were loaded into a cannon and each ball would go thru 4 or 5 men before stopping. The North was known to have loaded ther cannons with 2 or 3 - 16 ball rounds and literally mowed down advancing Southern soldiers.

Civil War Soldiers when not fighting primarily spent there time drilling, executing battle techniques and strategies. The rest of the time was spent trying to overcome boredom. Dominoes was a popular game for relieving this boredom.

Ebony, bone and brass riveted domino. This domino is believed to be Confederate. Reason being the crude fashion in which it is put together. The brass rivet is not flush with the bone surface, a characteristic of Union dominos. Also the bone is not as thick as the Union dominoes either. A relic which portray's a lighter side of a soldiers life as opposed to the brutality of this war. From a local Civil War dealer/collectors collection and displayed in a 6 x 8in. display case. ps thanks for looking!

Robert EdwardLee

Born: Stratford Hall Alexandria Virgina1807
Died: Lexington Virgina Oct. 121870

Gen. Robert E. Lee concentrated his full strength against Maj. Gen. George G. Meade's Army of the Potomac at the crossroads county seat of Gettysburg. On July 1, Confederate forces converged on the town from west and North, driving Union defenders back through the streets to Cemetery Hill. During the night, reinforcements arrived for both sides. On July 2, Lee attempted to envelop the Federals, first striking the Union left flank at the Peach Orchard, Wheatfield, Devil's Den, and the Round Tops with Longstreet's and Hill's divisions, and then attacking the Union right at Culp's and East Cemetery Hills with Ewell's divisions. By evening, the Federals retained Little Round Top and had repulsed most of Ewell's men. During the morning of July 3, the Confederate infantry were driven from their last toe-hold on Culp's Hill. In the afternoon, after a preliminary artillery bombardment, Lee attacked the Union center on Cemetery Ridge. The Pickett-Pettigrew assault (more popularly, Pickett's Charge) momentarily pierced the Union line but was driven back with severe casualties. Stuart's cavalry attempted to gain the Union rear but was repulsed. On July 4, Lee began withdrawing his army toward Williamsport on the Potomac River. His train of wounded stretched more than fourteen miles.

Included is a authentic Gettysburg .58 cal. Confederate Bullet in dropped condition and a C.S.A. Flat-button. Confederate buttons weren't as fancy as the Unions due in part to their limited resources and money.

Confederate Soldiers - Gettysburg. This is a very famous picture of 3 Confederate soldiers captured at Gettysburg during 1863. As seen in this picture the Confederate soldier, though captured, still portays himself in a proud dignified manner.

Included in a 6" x 8" display case are 2 authentic Gettysburg relics. One "Coin" or flat button and also a .52 cal. sharps carbine. Bone buttons were common amongst Confederate soldiers as they were basically poor and made do with what they could find.
